A cable wrap, a flag label and a flat panel label have different requirements. Start by recording the cable diameter or available panel space, the text and any barcode you need to fit.
Match the shape and material.
For flat, smooth surfaces, select a suitable standard laminated tape. For cable wrapping or curved surfaces, check a material designed for that use, such as a suitable flexible-ID tape. The complete material code matters; standard laminated tape should not be assumed to suit every cable.
Choose the printer width.
PT-E310BT supports TZe tape up to 18 mm. PT-E560BT supports up to 24 mm. For wider layouts, PT-E920BT supports 36 mm tape, with a maximum printable height of 32 mm.
Prepare a sample first.
- Measure the cable or label area.
- Provide the text, numbering pattern and barcode type if required.
- Check text height and readability on a sample.
- Confirm the material against the surface and operating conditions.
