For asset identification, the label needs to fit the item and remain readable for its intended service life. For temporary reminders, address labels or storage locations, a desktop roll-label workflow may be more convenient.
Separate durable labels from temporary labels.
Selected laminated TZe tapes are useful when the chosen adhesive and material match the surface. DK thermal paper labels offer die-cut and continuous formats for compatible QL printers. Assess exposure to heat, light, friction and cleaning before selecting either material.
Plan the information.
- Decide whether you need a name, asset number, barcode or QR code.
- Measure the available flat area.
- Test readability and scanning at the actual printed size.
- Confirm how your asset list will be prepared and imported into the supported software.

PT-E560BT supports TZe tapes up to 24 mm. QL-820NWBc uses DK rolls, including fixed-size DK-11202 and continuous DK-22205.
